What we do with your data.
Version 2026-08Updated 27 August 2026
In short: we only ask for what we need to help you, we never sell anything on, and one email is enough to have everything deleted. The full story is below, without the jargon.
Who we are
Klavier Studio Amsterdam is responsible for what happens with your data. Klavier Studio Amsterdam is a trade name of Harmotif, based in Amsterdam. Chamber of Commerce (KVK) 92214177, VAT ID NL004943711B89.
Questions about your data? Email us at hallo@klavierstudioamsterdam.nl. A person answers, not a system.
What we collect
Only what we need, and it depends on what you do with us.
- Through the intake form: your name, email address and phone number, the learner's age group, your child's first name if you're applying for your child, the instrument, the level, your preferred days and times, your language, how you found us, the time of your request and a hashed (unrecognisable) version of your IP address.
- Through the teacher form: your name, contact details, your story about training and experience, links you choose to send, whether you have a KVK registration and your indicative rate.
- Through an account: your email address and your login details. Logging in runs through Supabase; we don't store any passwords ourselves.
Why, and on what basis
Every use has a reason the law allows.
- To answer your request and suggest a teacher. This is needed to reach an agreement (pre-contractual), and it's our legitimate interest to help you well.
- To send you an occasional newsletter — only if you've separately said yes to that. You can unsubscribe at any time, with one click.
- To comply with the law: the Dutch tax authority requires us to keep invoices for seven years.
Who we share it with
As few people as possible. We don't sell your data and we don't share it with advertising networks. Ever. Who does see it:
- Our independent teachers. A teacher only sees the request that matches them. The teacher only receives your contact details after you've accepted the suggestion.
- Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (database, servers in the EU) and Resend (email). They process data on our behalf, under a data processing agreement.
Children
For children under 16, a parent or guardian fills in the form. We don't ask for the child's own email address or phone number — only a first name and an age group, so the teacher knows who's coming.
As a parent you can have everything we hold about your child viewed, corrected or deleted. One email is enough.
How long we keep it
No longer than needed.
- Requests that don't lead to lessons: after 12 months we anonymise them. What remains can no longer be traced back to you.
- Teacher applications we don't take on: deleted after 4 weeks.
- Invoices: 7 years, because the law requires it.
- Account data: up to 2 years after your last lesson. After that we delete it, unless you ask for deletion sooner.
Cookies
We only use functional cookies: one for your language choice and, if you log in, one to keep you logged in. That's all.
No tracking, no third-party analytics, no advertising cookies. We host fonts and videos ourselves, so nothing goes to Google or other parties when the page loads.
Your rights
It's your data. You can always:
- See what we hold about you.
- Have anything that's wrong corrected.
- Have anything we no longer need deleted — or everything.
- Object to a particular use.
- Take your data with you in a readable file.
Email us at hallo@klavierstudioamsterdam.nl and we'll sort it within a month. Usually much faster.
Not happy with how we handle it? You can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Changes
If we change this statement, we put the new version and date at the top of this page. For a major change we'll also let you know by email if you have an account with us.
